Leo Goes Sci-Fi: Christopher Nolan has his next hero. Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the "Dark Knight" director's next film, the sci-fi drama "Inception," Variety reported. Billed as an "actioner set within the architecture of the mind" by Warner Bros., details on the plot of the Nolan-penned film have yet to be revealed. The film is expected during summer 2010. The star will appear next in "Shutter Island," where he'll reunite with "The Departed" helmer Martin Scorsese.
Megan Gets Wet – And Western: In other casting news, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" star Megan Fox isn't taking a break from geek chic just yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she's attached to star in and develop Fox Atomic's "Fathom," based on the Top Cow comic book of the same name, where she'll play an aquatic humanoid with power over water. She's also reportedly in final negotiations to star alongside Josh Brolin in "Jonah Hex," an adaption of the western-themed DC comic.
Reese Downsizes: Variety also reported that Reese Witherspoon has signed on to Alexander Payne's "Downsizing," the writer-director's first film since 2004's acclaimed "Sideways." Paul Giamatti and Sacha Baron Cohen have also committed to the film, which will reportedly follow Giamatti as he decides to shrink himself to miniature size to save money. Reese and Payne previously worked together on the dark comedy "Election."
