Like a big gulp of fresh air, West Village label Priestess NYC dashes out a zippy helping of modernist fashion without taking itself too seriously, and giving the homogeneous likes of American Apparel an inventive, gregarious run for its money.
True to its manifesto - although, honestly, even such lofty terms don't intimidate the happy chicster from flaunting a rocket in Priestess' collection of bubble gum prints and interesting, stretchy silhouettes - this is a clothing line for smart-aleck punks who look good, feel good and don't overthink it. Or at least don't look like they do.
Our personal favorites include the jock-sexpot minidresses paired with kicky Kelly green high-tops, minimalist jumpsuits and rich textures from metallics to soft knits. Legs get attention as well from torn tights and neon knee-highs, perfect for prancing around in with a smile.
