What a novel idea: have well-known Upper East Side photographer Tina Barney shoot a series of UES-elite family portraits in Tory Burch's UES apartment, with Polly Mellen as matriarch to sell the designer's Spring collection to those wanting just that.
Tory Burch has enjoyed skyrocketing success with her label, partly because of its "it" status accessories, funky prints and uptown preppy wearability, but also because she's the epitome of a scrubbed-clean, adorable stalwart of the Upper East Side elite - the very face of her own brand. Tapping Barney to shoot the Mellen-led Upper East Side family at her own pad for upcoming marketing materials is nothing less than a smart and natural move - kind of like Tory herself.
