Now Open: The Crangi Family Project

The Meatpacking District, host to such colossal, high-concept retail spaces as Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, now welcomes cult-favorite jewelry designer Philip Crangi’s treasure box of a boutique -- lovingly titled, The Crangi Family Project.

The Crangi business, as it turns out, has always kept it in the family: Philip's sister, co-founder and CEO Courtney Crangi, believes the new store "is the perfect platform to take our business to the next level -- to show everybody what we are really capable of."

The cozy space, modeled after Crangi's luscious Chelsea studio, is the type of hidden gem one stumbles upon after brunch and somehow settles into for the afternoon, boasting green velvet walls, tin ceilings, and a slightly browbeaten chandelier. Crangi's signature blend of gold, steel and wrought iron adornments glisten against this quirky backdrop, along with his second line, Giles & Brother, and a selection of fine vintage pieces. As an added bonus, the store is located mere steps from Pastis, so MePa shoppers may feasibly enjoy their "oeufs aux fines herbes" with a hearty side order of post-industrial bling.
