Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh confirmed to Gawker that they'd made a $1.6 million mistake by capping all prices on 6pm.com at $49.99

In an email, Hsieh told Gawker the glitch happened as a result of a simple mis-coding in their complicated pricing engine, something that this incident has brought to light to improve.

Apparently, for a company as massive as parent Amazon, $1.6 million wiped away on a Friday is not significant enough to cost anyone their job -- Hsieh said no one would be fired -- and despite the site's terms and conditions, they will, in fact, honor the mistaken prices. Had people really heard of 6pm.com before this happened? The "mistake" could have been well worth it, because certainly know about it now.
