    Opening Ceremony

Print-mania is going to sweep the streets this fall, when all the funky designer textiles from the runway finally land on shelves.  As we compile autumnal wishlists, it occurs to us that--in addition to patterned separates and dresses--we'll be seeing a slew of covetable printed footwear options. Opening Ceremony's signature clog bootie in a cool tie-dyed velvet is the coolest mix of tough-yet-feminine we've seen yet.

The moody blue/black color option reminds us a little bit of a bruise -- in a surprisingly enticing way (is that weird?), and since what OC produces invariably ends up on the top stylish feel in the city, we're betting OC-darling Chloe Sevigny will soon be hobbling down the streets of Soho in these bad boys. We're digging the pink-toned version, perhaps as a transition from warmer summer colors.  If you like velvet but are maybe a bit anxious about having the trend on your feet, stay tuned for the complete velvet collection, which includes an adorable Peter Pan-collar mini dress and asymmetrical skirt.

Visit Opening Ceremony at 35 Howard Street, between Broadway and Crosby.
