Report: Vera Wang to Expand Empire into Menswear, New Juniors Collection

Vera Wang is clearly in expansion mode. After a year in which she expanded her formalwear empire through deals with mass-market retailers like David's Bridal and Zales, the designer has reportedly inked deals to create two new expansions in 2012: a tuxedo line at The Men's Wearhouse and a junior's line for Kohl's.

Sources apparently told WWD that Vera Wang is expected to announce the tuxedo licensing deal as early as Thursday -- a move that marks the designer's first foray into menswear. The trade daily also points out that "Men’s Wearhouse is the tuxedo rental partner of David’s Bridal," so the move is really just extending Wang's influence within an existing circle of partnerships.

Meanwhile, Kohl's and Vera Wang officially announced that the designer will be adding a new junior's line to complement her existing Simply Vera Vera Wang collection for Kohl's. The new collection will reportedly be called Princess Vera Wang, and will hit Kohl's shelves in August.
