United Bamboo for Madewell Hits Stores Today

Madewell

Considering the frenzy that typically attends designer collaborations with mass fashion retailers, we were surprised that United Bamboo's five-piece collection for Madewell has, so far, flown under the radar.

Hitting Madewell stores and e-commerce today, the line-up includes simple preppy pieces with an unexpected twist, like a bold triangle-print blouse, sporty fur-lined parka with a drawstring waist, and silky shirt dresses with soft, ruffled collars.

The stand-out piece, however, is a bold graphic silk blouse inspired by Parisian artist Pier Fichefeux, who gave rights to the pattern exclusively to Madewell, Fashionista reports.

With prices ranging from $125 to $350, the collection is somewhat spendier than Madewell's typical fare. But given that nobody knew the collection was coming, at least you won't have to fight through throngs of shoppers to snap up your favorite piece.
