Tragically Hip: Katy Perry Gets All Feline-Like for Her Purr Ads

With Halloween costume inspirations on our mind, Katy Perry's very, very literal take on the feline-themed name of her fragrance begs the question: is she in on the joke? If so, then the campy, purple and pink latex catsuit that she wriggled into for her first "Purr" ad campaign is a stroke of brilliance for the singer who's not known for a particularly subdued sense of style.

Still, given Perry's somewhat clouded sense of just how much is too much (case in point: the cleavage-baring number she wore for her appearance on Sesame Street last month), the catsuit just might be one of those "oh this old thing?" pieces from her own wardrobe closet—rather than that of a costumer's.

The ads, WWD reports, will appear in print magazines in January, and in Nordstrom stores as early as next month when "Purr" is expected to debut. Crazy cat ladies will rejoice over the availability of the scent in time for the holidays.
