Topshop Releases Spring '10 Lookbook

The semi-affordable fashion monolith has released its Spring 2010 Lookbook, and as it turns out, engineer-stripe jumpsuits paired with ruffle cardigans and big bows are actually cute in a nifty, urban gypsy kind of way.

The press release cites "sassy streetwear, festival trends and sleek military sportswear" as the collection's design inspiration. Not sure that we're picking up on any of those specific qualities, but we're feeling the "stolen from grandam's closet" eclecticism and demure styling details, like chain anklets worn over bobby socks, or polka-dot tap shorts paired with a long pearl necklace.

What's so much fun about a fast-fashion lookbook like Topshop's is that you get to see all the most prolific trends of the season--stripes, frills, florals, even terrycloth--rolled up into a giant style burrito.  Often, the results are less successful, but Topshop proves that a fashion mashup is an art form in itself.

Topshop is located 478 Broadway (at Broome Street) in Soho.
