The Lincoln Center Tents Get a New Look

Celebrating its first anniversary as the primary venue for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the tents at Lincoln Center will showcase a sleek new facade for this season's festivities.

In a release, sponsor IMG Fashion's SVP Managing Director, Peter Levy, laid out the new look:

"We’re excited about the new more modern look of the façade, which juxtaposes itself against the more traditional architecture of Lincoln Center, as well as the flexibility it will provide over the next couple of seasons to explore digital integration and other technology driven enhancements.”

The steely paneled wall replaces last year's back-lit, static cube that seemed to float between the Metropolitan Opera House and Avery Fisher Hall. Levy teases at an expanding array of multimedia features, which suggests the presence of video screens or tickers, perhaps.

Though only those industry folks with badges and invitations will venture into the silver block nestled at the back of Lincoln Center, the rest of the city will notice the temporary fixture (and its potential bells and whistles), indicating it's that time of year once again.
