Target Taps Hat-Maker Albertus Swanepoel for Fall Collaboration

Capitalizing on the hat frenzy sparked by the royal wedding, Target has tapped milliner Albertus Swanepoel to create avant-garde toppers for just $19.99 starting October 30, WWD reports..

The South Africa-born milliner is already an insider favorite within the fashion community, having created toppers for the runway shows of Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Diane von Furstenberg, Peter Som, Narciso Rodriguez, Proenza Schouler, and more.

While Swanepoel's full-price hats retail for $200 and up, WWD reports that the line for Target will feature 14 styles featuring leopard print and "fashionable trim" for a mere $19.99 apiece. Swanepoel becomes the second milliner to work with the big-box chain after Eugenia Kim, whose hats bowed in spring 2010.

Also launching for Target's holiday shopping season: LA-based jeweler Dana Kellin's semi-precious-stone-wrapped necklaces and earrings, priced between $9.99-$49.99.
