Simon Spurr whose impressive resume as a menswear designer includes stints at Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, as well as his own namesake collection which he launched for fall 2010, is adding one more big name to the list: Tommy Hilfiger.
The British-born Spurr, a Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund Award finalist was tapped by the all-American designer to act as a creative consultant on his next men's runway collection, WWD reports. Hilfiger, who recently brought Peter Som on board as a similar consultant for his women's collection, clearly isn't afraid to invest in outside talent—or competitors even. When you can't beat 'em, hire 'em.
