Report: Kanye West Cultivating Permanent London Base, Readying Next Collection

Kanye West's first serious attempt as a fashion designer may not have won him rave reviews with the critics, but according to a new report, the star is upping the ante for next season.

According to UK's The Sun, West held a party for his fashion label -- Dw by Kanye West -- in London just before heading back to the States for Christmas. At the party, a source told the tabloid, West told attendants that he's looking to make London a more permanent home:

"He's close to the lecturers and students at the Central Saint Martins College and being in London means he can stop by for advice any time ... He'll be over here preparing his Paris Fashion Week show, due in March. He's also been looking for a studio."

After months of speculation, West debuted his collection at Paris Fashion Week in September, and despite some barbs from the critics in the press, he has seemed determined to make a go of it in the industry. Despite the fact that The Sun's report may or may not be true, it stands to reason that West would be looking to spend more time in London as he develops his next collection, considering that his design team and mentors at Central St. Martins are all there. What his Fall 2012 collection will bring, however, is anyone's guess.
