Traditionally, red carpet-favorite Marchesa has presented the label's collections in glamorous presentations outside the tents at the Chelsea Art Museum -- complete with models on pedastals wearing frothy works of art.
That may change for the coming fashion week festivities, however. Elle recently reported that stylisth Tabitha Simmons tweeted some interesting news last week:
Now going to see the marchesa collection! Can't wait as they are having a show this season. I will keep you posted.
If true, the news would mark an exciting new development for fashion week: in season's past, the static presentations have featured models in massive gowns and six-inch heels, sometimes wilting to the point of tears under the lights. Showing off the newest designs with a swish down the catwalk would be a treat for models and editors in the audience alike -- though it does beg the question of whether the label would venture uptown to Lincoln Center for such a show, or if they would stay downtown.
