Rachel Bilson is the latest celeb to team up with BeachMint, the social-commerce platform that uses the increasingly popular club format (think Gilt Groupe or Ideeli) to send members jewelry, clothes, or beauty products on a monthly basis.
Dubbed "ShoeMint," Bilson and longtime stylist Nicole Chavez will create a series of shoe styles in partnership with Steve Madden, who has signed on as the production partner.
“I loved the idea of designing really cute shoes that are affordable and accessible,” Bilson tells WWD. “The whole idea behind the BeachMint brand makes the online shopping experience so personal.”
With this project, Bilson joins the ranks of Kate Bosworth (who helped launched BeachMint last fall with JewelMint) and the Olsen Twins, who help design custom t-shirts for StyleMint.
While the concept sounds pretty cool (after all, who doesn't want a new pair of shoes every month?), we hope the quality is up to snuff, which could be a tricky proposition at $30 a month.
