A look from Proenza Schouler's Fall 2011 runway show.
This weekend is shaping up to be one of the best three day stretches sample sales this month, so save budget for gifts for others (or gifts for yourself).
The indie designer's seasonal sale always draws the fashion magazine in-crowd, offering up to 60 percent off Comey's signature printed dresses, quirky knitwear, and coveted shoes. There are usually boxes of extra-discounted accessories -- from past-season backpacks to scarves -- as an extra incentive. Thursday, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Saint Patrick's Cathedral Youth Center Gymnasium, 268 Mulberry Street
The eye-catching prints on designers Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty's pieces for Suno could very well go toe-to-toe with Comey, and this sale features a bonus element: other participating designers. In addition to fashion from Suno's Spring 2011 and Resort 2011 collections, the sale includes discounted items from Dieppa Restreppo, Carlos Campos, and Illesteva. Friday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. at 76 Wooster Street.
Given that Proenza Schouler is currently about as "It" as it gets, we'd predict that this one-day-only sale racks up the longest lines and the sharpest elbows. Expect clothing and shoes from the Fall 2011 collection starting at just $82.50. Saturday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at 495 Broadway, 3rd floor.
