Opening Ceremony Throws Fashion Carnival at the Brooklyn Museum

Operning Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are turning party planners for the kick-off gala of the Brooklyn Museum's "High Style" exhibit: The duo have recruited an incredible roster of of-the-instant talent to throw an carnival-inspired spectacular this Thursday.

Band of Outsiders, Philip Crangi, Patrick Ervell, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rodarte and Slow and Steady Wins the Race will transform the gala into a bonanza of dessert, dancing, games and fashion souvenirs -- with the help of an enormous Andy Warhol pinata "the size of a room" (according to WWD) and filled with treats by food artist Jennifer Rubell. Essentially, the whole event sounds like the fashion-obsessed adult version of a five-year-old faced with more sugary treats than one knows what to do with.

The best part is that anyone can buy a ticket to the afterparty: Member tickets are $50, individual tickets are $75, and a "benefactor" ticket is $175. To purchase tickets, head over the Brooklyn Museum's website.
