The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out with the royal family over the holiday weekend sporting one of her signature statement toppers. This aubergine hat -- an updated trilby silhouette -- was designed by Jane Corbett, who has been described as the royal family's milliner, and apparently the jacket was designed by an independent British designer.
As a spokesperson for the royal family told Richard Palmer: "The Duchess is keen to use independent British dress- makers, whose skills and craftsmanship she admires."
It sounds like the Duchess may be taking a page from Michelle Obama's playbook in highlighting lesser-known designers.
