Ohne Titel: Modern Surfer Chic

The designers of Ohne Titel were apparently inspired by a woodblock artist for spring, though they were also perhaps influenced by some of the more sport-tech collections rolled out for Spring 2010 -- including Proenza Schouler's sporty-surfer line and Cynthia Rowley's chic collection for Roxy -- in creating series of looks down the runway with a heavy emphasis on a slick wetsuit-like material (here a cropped tank, there a pair of hot pants, elsewhere found as belts or pockets). The models all wore their hair slicked back into tight buns, and some wore bib-like, ultra-modern necklaces.

The wood-block elements are apparent in modern color-blocking in white, blue, and black, which upped the sporty-nautical angle, without being so obvious. The slim-cut tailoring and minimalist aesthetic for which the label has become known remains intact, though this collection seemed quite focused and grown-up in its approach.
