You know the fashion world is gearing up for spring when press releases about new sunglasses start coming in. Today's offering: Victoria Beckham's newly re-launched, statement eyewear on Net-a-Porter.
Beckham has been entering the fashion market with a strong hand over the past year -- putting out a well-received collection of dresses and re-launching her denim line under the Victoria Beckham label (not surprisingly, the jeans include some ultra-tight skinnies).
For sunglasses, Beckham partnered up with Cutler & Gross to create eight very different styles -- all unified by their statement-making potential and astronomical price tags ($349- $510. Net-a-Porter has four styles available, but some of the others (like the au current round fames) will hit Bergdorf Goodman soon. The square-frame, wiry style has a distinctly '70s vintage appeal, while the black cat-eye seems more Grace Kelly with a modern spin. The clear acetate frames are more futuristic and seem to us the most "Beckham" of the bunc, but then again maybe we're feeling the Beckham influence because of the nifty mannequin on which all these frames are being shown -- maybe it's just us, but she looks a heckuva lot like Victoria.
