J.Crew is clearly in the expansion business when it comes to its menswear. Fresh off the heels of opening a new men's store at Columbus Circle in November (and opening an upscale men's shop in August of 2010), the retailer has just opened a new Tribeca outpost named for its signature suit: The Ludlow.
The Ludlow Shop at 50 Hudson is located just blocks from J.Crew's first men's shop, The Liquor Store, which opened in 2008 and, incidentally, was the first place to sell the Ludlow suit. The store is, like J.Crew's other menswear shops, a temple to a certain vintage brand of man -- the interior features piles of cashmere, retro-looking suitcases, and a vintage Mies van der Rohe sofa.
In addition to the largest assortment of Ludlow suits under one roof anywhere, the store will also sell the requisite staples of the stylish upscale male addicted to J.Crew's partner brands -- Thomas Mason for J.Crew shirts, Alden for J.Crew shoes, and more.
The Ludlow Shop is located at 50 Hudson Street in Tribeca.
