Monique Péan, Eddie Borgo Win Major Funding from Tiffany & Co.

In May, Tiffany & Co. announced they would be establishing a whopping million-dollar grant to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund to help support emerging jewelry designers. Now, designers Monique Péan and Eddie Borgo have been named the winners of the first CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Tiffany & Co. Development Grant -- Péan will receive $150,000 and Borgo, $100,000.

According to a press release, Péan and Borgo were selected as the "best to demontrate their ability to develop their designs as independent entities." Péan has made a name for herself creating sustainable, eclectic fine jewelry, while Borgo's aesthetic leans toward the rocker edge of costume collections.

All past winners were eligible to apply for the grant, and Péan and Borgo were chosen from a pool that included Waris Ahluwalia of House of Waris, Phillip Crangi of Giles & Brother, Irene Neuwirth, Anthony Nak and Justin Giunta of Subversive Jewelry.
