Mary J. Blige has been gradually expanding her fashion empire and up next: a new line of eyewear called Melodies by MJB, set to debut this October.
The new sunglasses come on the heels of MJB's collabo with Catherine Malandrino on a line of charity T-shirts and her "My Life" fragrance with Carol's Daughter. WWD reports that Melodies by MJB will debut at Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman and feature four styles, including an aviator to round out the otherwise oversized, retro-inspired shapes (priced between $165-$225). Two additional styles will be added later this year.
A woman after our own hearts, Blige explained her motivation to make sunglasses, citing the need for a chic pair of sunnies to both hide behind and show off one's style, all at once.
