Mara Hoffman's presentation had an island theme, with a bevy of models in vibrant prints anchored by khaki-family neutrals.
After chatting through the collection with her last week, we were excited to see the goods on display yesterday afternoon.
Among them: sassy cropped trousers and nubby knits over tribal-style prints that hung to the floor; a divine, safari-esque silk jumpsuit; and geometric-patterned dresses with long and mini-length skirts. In addition to her thoughts on a sublime printed denim jacket-and-pant combo with a bustier top (in her own words: "gangster-island"), she shared post-fashion show plans to retreat to the woods and relax (sounds tempting).
Between the clothes' energetic aesthetic and the presentation's party atmosphere -- PR team leader Kelly Cutrone (daughter in tow) frolicked among dancing models and a painfully hip and perfectly dressed downtown crowd -- Hoffman's collection provided the perfect sartorial pop to get the week started right.
