Macy Gray Wants to Relaunch Plus-Size Line

As plus-size models (along with entire magazine issues devoted to all things curvy) have come into vogue, everyone's trying to get in on the trend, including Macy Gracy, who let drop plans to relaunch her own plus-size line next year.

Back in 2007, Gray launched a line for Macy's centered on curvaceous women called -- wait for it -- Humps. Now, while the name may bring to mind awkward visions of Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas singing "My Humps" back in 2005, the concept overall wasn't a bad idea. Heck, she even apparently used a reality show to try to find a spokesperson for the line (the ingredients were there!).

Last week's launch of Esprit's new 34th Street outpost (where Gray also performed) must have given her new hope for all things throwback, since she told a WWD reporter that she was planning bring Humps back to the market next year. In an interesting turn, she then admitted she was "surprised" by Esprit's new hip makeover. Even she admitted she "hadn't been to Esprit in forever." Well, let's see if everything old really can become new again -- from '80s brands to 2007 celebrity collabs.
