Lucky Denim Designers Leaving Liz Claiborne

Seems like an exodus from Liz Claiborne these days. After the Juicy girls jumped ship last week,  Lucky Denim co-founders Gene Montesano and Barry Perlman will relinquish their operational roles with the brand upon completion of their three-year contract, and remain as non-operating creative consultants.

Montesano and Perlman, who had been serving as creative directors since Claiborne's purchase three years ago of the denim collection they founded in 1990, had a similar contract to Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy of Juicy, and both sets were up this year.  It's doubtful the Lucky guys made out with quite the booty the Juicy ladies did, with recent comps at the brand down nearly 20% for the first nine months of 2009.  But, that said, they're probably doing just fine.
