Lady Gaga Morphs into Mr. Jo for Vogue Hommes Japan

Even with all the rumors and speculation circling the internet last month over Lady Gaga's potential cross-dressing act for Japan's Vogue Hommes, the official cover images haven't lost any of their shock value. Though the pop star is famous for her extravagant wardrobe styling and her ever-changing appearance, this is her most surprising incarnation yet.

Nicola Formichetti styled Gaga as "Jo Calderone," a mechanic from Palermo, Sicily who's never had his picture taken. For the shoot, photographed by Nick Knight, Gaga sported a thick head of dark hair, styled into a 1950's rockabilly pompadour, and a grease-stained white t-shirt.

While it's hard to keep anything in the fashion and entertainment industry a secret for very long, the rumors surrounding the mysterious shoot of this average "Jo" were only confirmed recently when Formichetti revealed images on his blog this past Wednesday, alongside a brief, cheeky interview with the budding model, whose ambitions include someday owning his own car shop, and several of his own muscle cars.

The magazine will hit stands next month.
