We love our big, trendy statement necklaces, but there's something to be said for the classics: solid gold bangels, simple chain-link necklaces, subtle stud earrings. Eco-friendly jewelry label, Mannin, specializes in ultra-luxe and unembellished jewelry staples that are designed to be lifelong investments.
Founded by designer Suzanne Donegan, Mannin has grown from just seven styles to encompass two complete collections: "classic" and "signature," the former being a selection of jewelry-box staples (cuffs, chain-link wrap bracelets, hinged bangles) and the latter a range of statement pieces incorporating precious stones, antique estate jewelry and recycled gold.
Our favorite pieces by far are those in the Mannin's unusual chain-link design, which consists of jagged double links secured by a handmade cable chain with a "moustache" clasp. Like so much of Mannin's jewelry, the look is distinctive but still classic, and could easily become an everyday, wear-it-in-the-shower kind of piece. A monogramming option adds another dimension of character and personalization, transforming Donegan's designs into precious heirlooms. But as much as we like the concept of passing things down, it would definitely be a challenge to wrench one of these bracelets or necklaces from our kung-fu grip.
