LAS' mixed-media collars combine flea market flair with a modern design sensibility. Crafted by husband and wife team, Lisa and Dan Soltis, the LA-based brand uses recycled metals and leathers along with handmade charms to ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike.
Each LAS design begins with a 2-D sketch that Dan, a 3-D sculptor by trade, translates into a three-dimensional object, carving moulds from blocks of wax before the charms are cast in metal. Signatures of the LAS collection include layered leather "petals" festooned with beads and stones, mixed vintage chains, long fabric tassels and geometric accents.
Best of all is the brand's explosive use of color. Like little gardens for your neckline, each LAS collar features layer upon layer of bright, garden-inspired colors. They might not be easy to coordinate with, but it's nice to know you can enjoy some summer color long after the season has passed. With prices ranging from $95 for cast metal rings to $330 for handmade necklaces, everyone can afford a slice of LAS fantasy.
