Know Right Now: Gemma Degara

How many times have you pulled your sweater on backwards only to be gently entreated (probably by your boss) to "please look in the mirror" upon arriving at work?  Those of us prone to such early morning embarrassments would be better off dressing exclusively in Gemma Degara, the Spanish-born fashion designer whose signature "180 degree" garments can be worn backwards or forwards.

Gemma Degara founded her eponymous label six years ago in Barcelona,  the same year she was named "Best Emerging Designer" at the prestigious ModaFAD Awards. For Degara, whose sheer ruched dresses and drapey batwing tops could outfit a chic production of Midsummer Night's Dream, fashion is nothing if it sacrifices function and comfort.  Her fall/winter collection, titled Caida Libra, or Free Fall, features everything from silk dresses to slouchy cardigans to shock-blue onesies, all designed with the purpose of being flipped around and sported vice-versa, depending on the wearer's whim.

Check out Degara's Etsy Shop for a great selection of skirts, tops, and flirty mini dresses.
