Just in Time for Spring: Illesteva Launches New Silhouette, Zac Posen Collaboration

One of our favorite New York sunglasses labels has unveiled a new cat-eye silhouette for summer, as well as an upcoming collaboration with Zac Posen.

The label, whose downtown-inspired frames are designed in New York and handmade in Europe, has developed a passionate following (including celebrities like Beyonce) for its retro-looking, unisex frames like the "Leonard" and the "Frieda." Now, the label has unveiled its first women-specific silhouette, the cat-eye "Claire," just in time for the kick-off of the warm weather season.

What's more, WWD is also reporting that designer Zac Posen has signed on to create a limited-edition collaboration around the label's round-eye and cat-eye frames that will feature colors as varied as yellow, green, and leopard print.

As we develop the Zac Posen brand, sunglasses allow me to maintain an aspect of flare and attitude for clothing that transitions into day,” Posen said, who added that working with a smaller company like Illesteva “allows me to have a focused collection in the first stage of the our eyewear development.”

While Posen's custom frames won't be available until next month, you can snap up a pair of "Claire" frames -- or one of the label's other chic styles -- on illesteva.com right now.
