Marais Shoes
Judging by her classically cool collection of footwear, we already knew Haley Boyd—co-founder of Brooklyn-based footwear brand, Marais Shoes—had her finger on the pulse. Happily, the designer also has a knack for finding terrifically catchy tunes. Here, the jams she's feeling for the fall.
Elvis, "Viva Las Vegas" - "The ultimate road trip track. Even if you're just driving upstate."
Tom Waits, "Old Shoes" - "Lovely and mellow, this is the perfect song for quiet autumn evening."
Warren Zevon, "Werewolves of London" - "Most of my New York friends haven't heard of him, but Bruce Springstein called him the greatest American song writer. This is such an awesome track. Adam Sandler did a great cover of it on the Warren Zevon Tribute album—'Enjoy Every Sandwich.' Also highly recommended."
Frank Sinatra, "Summer Wind" - "Despite the title, I love listening to this in the Fall. It reminds me of falling leaves, long walks, and getting closer to the holidays."
The Isley Brothers, "It's Your Thing" - "We are playing this in the design studio and loving it."
John Prine, "Ain't Hurtin' Nobody" - "If you think you don't like country, just try it. John Prine is one of the best."
The Black Keys, "Yearnin'" - "Need to do the big fall clean-out and keep procrastinating? Putting this on oddly gets the Swiffer and Mrs. Meyers out in no time."
Fleetwood Mac, "Hold Me" - "Always kind of the perfect song."
