Gaultier Unveils Fashion Exhibit in Dallas, Thinks Dallas Women Are “Elegant”

Jean Paul Gaultier's sweeping retrospective, "The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk," had its official opening at the Dallas Museum of Art this week, where NBC DFW caught up with fashion's iconic "enfant terrible."

The trip was apparently the designer's first to Dallas, where he said women truly understood "the elegance of the Parisian":

"First thing, it started in Montreal ... and after, America -- Dallas, which is a place [which is] fabulous," says Gaultier, "Because there are women that are very elegant. and that can [understand] the Parisian, because the elegance of the Parisian doesn't exist anymore."

The retrospective includes both ready-to-wear and couture looks by the designer, as well as costumes he created for Madonna. For a glimpse of the collection, head over to NBC DFW.
