20-year-old Amsterdam native Renee Germaine van Seggern has been described as an edgier Lara Stone, her porcelain doll pout and platinum blonde locks making her at once classic and a tad sultry. After stomping her way through shows at Chanel, Phillip Lim and Rick Owens, Seggern is coming off of her biggest year yet, and buzz has been mounting about future ad campaigns for the smokey-eyed beauty. We caught up with the unkempt ingenue to see what's keeping her busy between seasons.
How were you first discovered?
"Shopping in Amsterdam, was still wearing my braces back then. 16 years old and completely shocked!"
If you weren't modeling, what would you be doing instead?
"I would be studying journalism, and I think as a job next to that probably teaching windsurfing."
Telll us about the most over-the-top shoot you've ever been on? What did you have to do?
"In Japan I was shooting in the mountains, and had to run with sheep that didn't move a muscle. So I was screaming, waving my arms..."
