Like Tokio 7 down the block, Fab 208 will relocate across the street -- except unlike its neighbor, it'll go from north to south, bigger to smaller.
It's a similar story, one typical to New York retail: In order to maintain its thrifty character, Fab 208 has been forced to move in order to meet rent. The new store will apparently include goods priced mostly under $40: As owner Jo Smith told Racked, the new spot will be "an old-school East Village store." Smith went on to stress her determination to keep the selection affordable -- as she put it, "giving our customers great stuff at prices they can actually afford while actually making a living." Amen to that.
The new shop is expected to open after Memorial Day weekend.
