Dr. Scholl's Gets a Makeover

The Original Dr. Scholl's is now officially called Dr. Scholl's Shoes, after a re-vamp that includes an expanded product offering, updated packaging and a focus on wellness, WWD reports.

Each of the new styles for both men and women -- ranging from sandals, boots and contemporary looks to the Free Step fitness collection -- includes the brand's deeply researched health elements, like foot massaging technology and moisture management, while resembling more of an aesthetically conscious shoe. Price ranges for the new collections reflect the upgrades, skewing slightly higher from $40-$70 to $40-$90.

To allay the fears of those who've been fans of the traditional brand for ages, company execs reiterate that the changes are nothing too drastic. GM Keith Duplain told WWD: “We’re reimagining it, not reinventing it. We’re putting our energy and resources into what’s already there. Every now and then, you have to make sure you are true to who you are in a way that takes you forward.”
