Doc Martens to Open Soho Store in September

It may have just turned 50, but beloved British punk boot brand Dr. Martens still has plenty of young fans that will no doubt swarm its first east coast store in Soho come September.

The local outpost will be a 2,000-foot altar to combat boots in Soho -- where a retail renaissance of sorts is already taking place (on the heels of openings like Isabel Marant and soon-to-be offerings from Diane von Furstenberg, among others). The new space will join west coast locations in historically grunge-heavy cities Portland, Seattle and San Francisco, and is part of a larger expansion of the brand itself on the heels of an uptick in sales -- 30 percent, in fact, as CEO David Suddens told WWD

UPDATE: The new Doc Martens store will be located at 148 Spring Street, between Wooster and West Broadway.
