Daphne Guiness Wanted to Highlight Isabella Blow with Barneys Windows Stunt

The Feast NY was there when Daphne Guiness stopped traffic with her seven-minute live performance of getting dressed in the windows of Barneys last night before the Met Ball. As she related to WWD, however, it was all actually in an effort to showcase her friend and fellow fashion icon, the late Isabella Blow.

“I thought, Lee will be at the Met, Izzy had got to be somewhere,” Guinness told WWD, referring to the annual gala's tribute to the late Lee Alexander McQueen, and their third comrade, Blow.

The windows at the department store all highlighted Blow's spectacular fashion archive, which Guinness acquired after her friend's death to ensure it wouldn't all be split apart. FIT and Parsons students gathered among crowds of onlookers Monday evening, who took in the performance against the spectacular backdrop of 26 looks from Guinness' archive, including a selection of Blow's signature Phillip Treacy hats and 10 pieces by the late McQueen.
