The slow and steady renovation of a 192-year-old townhouse on the corner of Spring and Wooster is, alas, all in the name of getting ready for a new Crocs store.
The rubber clog empire will set up its newest shop in the landmarked building after giving it an extensive update that includes a fresh new facade and a glassed-in back room. Since being built in 1818, the Federal-style building has seen many tenants, including the Tennesse Mountain Restaurant, and in the '70s, a garage.
Hopefully Crocs won't zap all the charm out of the space because frankly, we're not overly thrilled about the merch.
