Badgley Mischka is Making Furry Bags for Its Contemporary Line

Mark Badgley and James Mischka took their namesake label to the contemporary level, with the first-name-basis Mark + James line of clothing in 2009. Shoes came next, for spring 2011, and are now being followed by handbags for fall, according to WWD, creating a trifecta collection.

The first style to be revealed -- a textured fur bag with saddle leather flag closures -- seems a bit off-key for the chic duo, though we do understand that all furry things have become de rigeuer for fall and winter collections overall. The price range on the 35 styles being produced for the line falls neatly in the affordable range -- $150-$300 -- and will, according to WWD, include pieces that include "wool and waxed cotton messengers in Navajo prints, as well as a variety of pieces in fake fur, leather and satin."
