Backstage Beauty: Get the Band of Outsiders Look

Designer Scott Sternberg presented both the Boy and Girl spring lines for Band of Outsiders in one showing this past Fashion Week, setting them apart with some very subtle beauty differences.

Both makeup looks, Shiseido makeup artist Dick Page explains, are inherently "uncomplicated."

For Boy, Page started with a swipe of dark eyeliner, and filled in the brows with dark shadow. Not only did the Boy girls skip lip color, Page used a bit of base to tone down the model's natural pink pout. For cheeks, Page applied a peach-hued cream blush with a cosmetic sponge, and went over the apples of the model's smiling cheeks and the bridge of the nose with a pinkish blush brush.

The Girl girls, on the other hand, got the opposite treatment: a simple rosy lip and no eye makeup whatsoever. Her cheeks were also splashed with just a smidge of sponge- and brush-swept blush for a fresh, glowy look.

Take a look to see how the makeup maestro pulls off a natural, dewy glow with barely a hint of color.
