At Fashion Week Kick-Off Party, Wu-Tang Clan is the Biggest Draw

While any Thursday night party during Fashion Week is usually approached with caution -- most editors and stylists are facing a grueling week of early mornings -- the '80s prom-themed party at Milk Studios proved a strong draw for one big reason: Wu-Tang Clan.

The cult hip-hop group performed an hour-long set at the invite-only party, where an Elvis Presley impersonator also took pictures with party-goers under a Las Vegas-style wedding altar.

"Being in front of people and just giving them a bunch of hits," Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah said. "Everything was going smooth, energy was great, it was powerful, and we delivered the mail."

The group performed crowd favorites like "C.R.E.A.M," "Protect Ya Neck," and "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," among others, with top model Jourdan Dunn dancing towards the front of a capacity crowd at the venue. (Other party-goers included models like Behati Prinsloo and Constance Jablonski, as well as jewelry designer Waris Ahluwalia.

"I was checking out the people in the crowd -- they knew the words," Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon said. "It just felt good to be out there and everybody just rocking it. We felt good to pull it off."
