Alexander McQueen To Be Honored At Tomorrow's British Fashion Awards
RIP MCQUEEN: The year started off with a devastating loss for the fashion community in the death of Alexander McQueen. News that the designer died sent shockwaves through New York Fashion Week in February and became a touchstone through the rest of the year. Designers collaborated, a genius was lost, clogs were in (truly) and Anna Wintour's seemingly limitless power was confirmed. Here's a look back at the year's most fashionable highlights.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of Alexander McQueen's untimely death, there's been no shortage of celebrations and tributes to the visionary designer. The latest honor comes tomorrow in the form of the award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design, presented by the British Fashion Council.

As part of the British Fashion Awards' annual ceremony, a film directed by Nick Knight and with music by Bjork will be featured, highlighting McQueen's most iconic pieces. The award itself “celebrates the achievement of a designer whose work has had an exceptional impact on global fashion,” WWD reports.

Over here across the pond, the Met is readying itself for "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," this year's Costume Institute restrospective show, which will run from May 4 through July 31.
