Naeem Khan: Spring 2010

We can't blame the designer for apparently wanting to get a bit romantic this spring.  The ornate and "belle of the ball" inspired collection for Spring 2010 could have been subtitled "What recession?"  We mean, these aren't exactly clothes you can WORK in...

But never the less, they still are rather seductive and the designer made his voice loud and clear.  To be fair, there were some everyday pieces tossed in the mix such as cropped khaki trousers and maybe even, if styled correctly, bubble skirts.  The statement felt like it was poking a bit of fun at the "shop your closet" mentality we've been instilled with this year by nudging us slightly with a "there is nothing like this in your closet so get shopping NOW."

Did the collection really make us want to snatch up the wares?  Well, the story told by Khan was kind of poetic and we're certain the red carpet will welcome several looks with open arms (Eva Longoria is a long-time red carpet fan).  In our world fussy is fussy (translation: not so much fun trecking around this city even if en route to a black tie event) but we're certain several stars will consider this collection a go-to.
