Louis Vuitton's Spirit of Travel Jewelry, Including One Mother Rock

Louis Vuitton's execs stated the Spirit of Travel fine jewelry line, which will launch at the Champs-Elysses flagship October 15, represents the brand's move toward "getting serious" about jewelry.  With a 30.1-carat diamond and prices topping out at $2.5 million, we'd say so.

Venerable jewelry designer Lorenz Bäumer drew inspiration for his first Vuitton collection from a childhood traveling the world as the son of a diplomat.  Spectacular stones cast to reflect the beauty of Masai warriors and Chilean architecture anchor a collection of six sets, each hallmarked by a one-of-a-kind doozie of a necklace.

The house's two signature diamond cuts are extravagant works of painstaking craftsmanship that strip away nearly a quarter of the diamond for an astonishing 20 extra facets.  Well, isn't that rich?
