Spring 2010 is, oddly enough, filled with brights and neutrals clothing-wise, but when it comes to makeup, mouths have gone way dark.
After several seasons of the smokey-eye-nude-lips routine, with some va-va-voom red smoochers thrown in here and there, it looks like lipsticks deepening its hues for Spring. Several shows featured models stomping down the catwalk with their pouts painted blackish purple, including Rodarte, Betsey Johnson and Vena Cava, to name a few.
Perhaps among collections of mood-lifting lightness, the deep, dark lips pay subtle homage to a more serious time. Or maybe it's just fun to go all vamp and scary in such a way that can be wiped right off and innocence restored. Mwah!
