Kanye West's Second Nike Sneaker Hits Shelves June 9

Kanye West's New Sneaker "Air Yeezy II" in Stores June 9

Kanye West has paired up with Nike to release the "Air Yeezy II"—his second collaboration with the company—on June 9.

The slimmed-down silhouette—said to be tailored to West's own foot—as well as details like hieroglyphics spelling out "YZY" and "anaconda texture" leather are sure to have fans lined up early to get their hands on the kicks.

The first "Air Yeezy" (after West's nickname) launched in 2009, selling on eBay for more than $1,000 after originally clearing the shelves for $220 a pop.

Since then, West has launched his own high-fashion line, and collaborates with Giuseppe Zanotti to craft his runway shoes. But sneakers are a natural "fit" for him: "I've been designing Nikes in my sketch pad since the fourth grade,” he said in 2009 during the original Air Yeezy launch.

West is on tour in Europe with Jay-Z, who of course already has a pair of the new sneaks.

The limited-edition Nike Air Yeezy II platinum and black sneakers will be available for $245 at select stores.
