ABC Carpet & Home is a majestic bazaar situated just north of Union Square, jam-packed with imported silk pillows, elaborate light fixtures, sustainable wood furniture, baby and children's decor, artful tabletop accents, jewelry, stationery, clothing and more. ABC Carpet across the street has become an institution for the finest selection of antique and contemporary rugs. Problem is, there's a price to exquisite beauty that we simply cannot afford. Taking a day trip to the ABC Carpet & Home Warehouse Outlet in the Bronx is just the right solution.
Another covetable brand with an outlet option is A.P.C. Surplus. Half-price wares from seasons past give devotees of the French line's impeccably designed apparel and accessories a break by being just a year late.
Williamsburg is also home to the Paul Smith Sale Shop, to which overstock from the designer's other three NYC shops goes for slightly nicer prices. Just because it's an outlet doesn't mean the cheeky Brit sacrificed on the character of the space, which also houses jeans, the PS line and a random assortment of funky home accents.
They're all worth a try, because these sister stores don't simply outfit you in chic duds, they make you look smart.
