First Look: Target's Holiday Pop-Up

Target's three-day holiday pop-up opens next week at the High Line in the Meatpacking District next week, complete with a menu of pre-packaged gifting, special deals, and -- most enticing of all -- limited pieces from Rodarte's upcoming Target line.

As WWD points out, Target has been one of the pop-up pioneers, having first opened a holiday shopping barge in 2002 covered in bulls-eye holiday boughs. This round, Target is going for a "fast food"-inspired approach to gifting -- literally, customers can apparently walk up to the store and call out numbers, getting a lovely pre-packaged gift (ranging from little christmas ornaments and beauty products by Sonia Kashuk to the most "it" gadgets, like the $249.99 Sony PSP Go).

The most exciting news about the pop-up thus far, however, as been the news that select pieces from Rodarte's much-anticipated collection for Target (launching December 20) will also be available at the pop-up, including the ribcage sequin dress.

Looking for a special holiday treat? WWD reports that Target will also be dropping 500 massive gift tags hidden in the city, leaving clues on Twitter and elsewhere. If you find a tag and return it to the store, you'll get a gift card worth $10-$500, and Target will also donate $100 to the Salvation Army.
